Kyushu University Energy Week 2018

Summary

On February 1st, Research Center for Synchrotron Light Applications (RCSLA) and the Ultramicroscopy Research Center (URC) held a joint symposium at INAMORI CENTER, Kyushu University. RCSLA&URC have contributed to energy research at Kyushu University with performance, functional, and structural assessment of newly developed high-performance materials. During Kyushu Energy Week 2018, the two facilities organized a joint symposium to discuss next generation's materials in a viewpoint of material assessment. This year, RCSLA was delighted to have Prof. Osamu Terasaki as a special lecturer from ShanghaiTech University. RCSLA had four other special guests, too―Mr. Takashi Nishiyama (Director of the Office of Quantum Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology), Dr.Michiru Sakamoto (Director-General of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and technology Kyushu), Dr. Akira Kawabata (Director of the Institute of Systems, Information Technologies and Nanotechnologies) and Prof. Qixin Guo (Saga University Synchrotron Light Application Center)―. Six researchers also gave presentation of their research outcomes mentioning how RCSLA/URC facilities worked for their research. After the series of lectures, each attendant enjoyed discussion in a poster session. RCSLA thanks to our guests, attendees, speakers, and staff for making the joint symposium a success.
